Sight Words
Common words every student should know. Great for building basic cursive fluency.
How to Use These Practice Sheets
Start with the sight words category if you're new to cursive. These short, common words let you focus on basic letter forms and simple connections without worrying about spelling.
For each word, look at the cursive version carefully first. Notice how the letters connect. Then write the word on lined paper three to five times. Speed isn't the goal here — smooth, consistent letter forms are what matter.
For Beginners
Start with Sight Words and Short Words. Write each word 5 times. Focus on keeping letters the same size and staying on the baseline.
For Advanced Practice
Move to Medium and Long Words. Write each word 3 times, then try writing it from memory. Work on maintaining consistent slant and spacing.
For Teachers
Print specific categories to match your lesson plan. Use Names for capital letter practice. Assign 10-15 words per session for best results.
For Parents
Make it fun — let your child pick their favorite words to practice. 10 minutes of focused writing beats 30 minutes of reluctant practice every time.
