How to Write Cursive f
Stroke Instructions
Start at the baseline and stroke upward to the top line, then loop to the left and back down through the baseline, continuing below the baseline to create a descender loop. Curve the descender loop back up, crossing through the downstroke at or near the baseline, and finish with an exit stroke to the right.
Tips for Success
- Cursive f is one of the trickier letters because it goes both above and below the line
- The top loop and bottom loop should be roughly the same size
- The cross-through near the baseline gives it its distinctive look
- Practice the full stroke in one smooth motion
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Making one loop much larger than the other
- Not bringing the descender far enough below the baseline
- Forgetting to cross through at the baseline
