How to Write Cursive x
Stroke Instructions
Start at the baseline with an upward stroke to the midline. Come down at an angle to the baseline, creating a diagonal stroke. Then lift your pen and add a crossing stroke from upper-left to lower-right (or make the cross in one continuous motion depending on your cursive style). Finish with an exit stroke to the right.
Tips for Success
- This is one of the few cursive letters where you might lift your pen
- The two strokes should cross near the middle of the letter
- Keep the angles consistent for a clean look
- The exit stroke should connect to the next letter
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- The crossing point being off-center
- Making it too similar to a print 'x'
- Forgetting the connecting entry and exit strokes
