Case study

Jillian runs her website and newsletter by talking to her phone

How I moved a Soddy-Daisy healing arts center off Squarespace, cut her yearly software bill, and set her up to make changes herself just by talking to AI.

Jillian's Healing Arts Center website, rebuilt by Sanden Solutions

At a glance

  • 4 website changes she made herself, by voice, her first morning

  • 1,068 newsletter subscribers moved over and sorted into groups

  • $272 a year saved on hosting and newsletter

The client

Jillian's Healing Arts Center in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee offers massage, acupuncture, reiki, yoga and classes. Jillian Ricks owns it and runs it day to day.

The problem

She was paying Squarespace for three separate things: $336 a year for her website, $336 a year for her newsletter emails, and $324 a year for Acuity class scheduling. That is close to $1,000 a year, and every change still meant logging in and clicking through menus.

She wanted to run her website and newsletter herself, by voice, from her phone.

What I built

  1. A new website

I rebuilt her site from scratch so it loads fast and works well on phones and with screen readers.

Every old page address forwards to the new one, so her Google listings kept working.

  2. A private connection between her website and AI

Jillian uses Claude, an AI assistant, on her own account. I built a private, password-protected connection so Claude can work on her website.

She says something like "add the Friday core class to the yoga page." Claude makes the change, reads it back to her, and publishes it when she says so. If she changes her mind, she asks Claude to undo it.

  3. A newsletter she can write and send by voice

She tells Claude what she wants to say. Claude lays it out in the same style as her past newsletters and sends it from her own email address when she says it is ready.

She can send to everyone or to one group, like massage clients, yoga students or acupuncture clients. Before anything goes out, Claude tells her which group and how many people will get it.

  4. Her bookings feed her list

When a new client books in Square, or someone signs up for a class in Acuity and says yes to her emails, they join her list on their own, already sorted into the right group.

Nobody copies email addresses by hand.

The result

The first morning she tried it, Jillian made four changes to her website on her own in about 40 minutes: two new classes on her yoga page, a new section on reiki healing circles, and a small typo fix. Then she texted me:

"I am in love."

Her hosting and newsletter now cost $400 a year together, instead of $672 on Squarespace. That saves her $272 a year.

Class scheduling is next, which will let her drop Acuity too.
