What you get, free
Checked every 15 minutes
We load your site around the clock from our own server and look for a working page, not just a reply.
One email, not fifty
If several of your sites go down together you get one grouped email, then one more when they are back.
Double-checked first
A failed check is retried 45 seconds later before we email you, so a one-second hiccup never wakes you up.
SSL expiry warnings
We watch your certificate and warn you 14, 7, 3 and 1 days before it expires.
Text checks
Optionally make sure a word or phrase is on the page, so a blank or error page still counts as down.
No false alarms from firewalls
If Cloudflare, a security plugin or bot protection blocks our checker, we tell you so and how to fix it, instead of crying wolf about an outage.
Free plan: 5 websites, checks every 15 minutes, email alerts to one confirmed address.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Up to 5 websites, checked every 15 minutes, with email alerts to your address. No credit card and no trial that runs out.
What exactly do you check?
We load the page you give us (following redirects) and treat it as down if it does not answer, answers with an error code, has a broken SSL certificate, or is missing the text you asked us to look for. We never log in, fill forms or follow links.
Why does my site say "Blocked"?
Firewalls and bot protection (Cloudflare, Wordfence, Sucuri and others) sometimes show automated checkers a challenge or "access denied" page instead of your site. That is not an outage, so we do not alert you. Allow our checker's address and we can see your real site. In Cloudflare:
Cloudflare showed our checker a challenge or block page instead of your site.
That is bot protection, not an outage, so we do not count it as down or send an alert. To let the monitor see your real site, allow our checker's address:
- In Cloudflare, open your site, then Security, then WAF, then Tools.
- Under IP Access Rules, enter
34.235.43.45, pick Allow, and save.
