The short version
Your photos stay on your device. This tool does not upload, store or share your photos or face data, and it has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking cookies.
How your photo is handled
- Camera. The tool asks for camera access only when you tap the camera button, and only to show the live framing guide and take your photo. The camera turns off as soon as you take the photo or close the camera.
- Processing on your device. Face detection and every photo check run inside your browser on your phone or computer, using an on-device face model (Google MediaPipe) that is downloaded with the app. Your photo is never sent to Awaken Travels, Google or anyone else.
- No network access for your data. The page uses a strict security policy that only lets it load its own files from this website. It blocks connections to any other server, including the usage reporting built into the face detection library.
- Downloads. Files you download or share are created on your device and saved where you choose. Nothing is kept by the tool after you close the page.
- Saved setting. The tool remembers which document you picked last, in your browser's local storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Offline files. To work without a connection, your browser stores the app's own files (not your photos) in its cache.
Website basics
Like any website, the server that delivers these files may record standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request) for security and reliability. These logs never contain your photos.
Not a government service
Awaken Travels is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or any government. The photo checks are automated guidance and cannot guarantee acceptance. Always confirm the current rules with the official source for your document.
