How to Write Cursive Capital Y
Stroke Instructions
Start near the top line. Make a curved or looped stroke from the top-left down to the midline area. From the midline, make a second stroke from the top-right that meets the first at the midline. Then continue straight down from the meeting point to below the baseline, forming a descender loop. The loop curves back up and creates the exit stroke.
Tips for Success
- The two top strokes should meet cleanly at the midline
- The descender loop should be consistent with other descender letters
- Capital Y is one of the more decorative letters
- The exit stroke from the loop connects to the next letter
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- The top strokes not meeting at the same point
- The descender being too short
- The loop being inconsistent with other descender letters
