Ruby is a short name with a bold capital R and a b that gives the middle some height. The u-b connection involves a short-to-tall transition, and the y finishes with a descender below the baseline. Four letters, quick to write, but the height changes keep it interesting.

These letter pairs need extra attention. Here's how to connect them smoothly.
The capital R's leg kicks right. Let it flow into the u's first downstroke.
From the u's final upstroke, push up into the b's tall loop. Commit to the height.
The u-b height change is the trickiest part. Practice transitioning from a short letter to a tall one.
The b's loop should be round, not pointed. Take your time with it.
End the y with a confident descender that curves left below the baseline.
